1. You will lose precious time How much time have you wasted procrastinating? It isn’t easy to tell, but I am sure you can imagine. The worst thing about procrastinating is the moment you realize that you are two, five or ten years older and nothing has changed. Where did all the time go? This is a terrible feeling because you can’t turn back the hands of time, you just have to live with the helpless feeling of regret. There is nothing worse than feeling frustrated at yourself, knowing the situation could have been so different…if only you had taken that first step! Don’t do that to yourself, you deserve what you desire. 2. You will blow opportunities How many opportunities have you wasted because you didn’t take advantage of them when they were there? This is when you really want to kick yourself. What you don’t realize is that the opportunity could have been life changing, but you missed out on it. Most opportunities only come around once; you are never guaranteed a second chan

Supermoon : Have you heard?

Image
The largest , brightest moon for seven decades is making a sweep past earth. It is commonly called the "Supermoon ". According to NASA, a supermoon is when we see the full moon at its closest to the Earth.  Also supermoon is the coincidence of a full moon or a New moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth. The technical name is the perigee-syzygy of the Earth-Moon-Sun system . The term "supermoon" is not astronomical, but originated in modern astrology.     The association of the Moon with both oceanic and crustal tides has led to claims that the supermoon phenomenon may be associated with increased risk of events such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, but this is not true. The opposite phenomenon, an apogee-syzygy, has been called a micro moon,[6] though this term is not as widespread as super moon. Occasionally, a supermoon coincides wi

Lovers of Poetry

Here is the famous poem written by Lt. Colonel John McCrae. In the spring of 1915, shortly after losing a friend in Ypres,  inspired by the sight of poppies growing in battle-scarred fields wrote the poem 'In Flanders Fields'. After the First World War, the poppy was adopted as a symbol of Remembrance.                   THE POEM IN FLANDERS FIELDS In Flanders' fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place: and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders' fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe; To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high, If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow  In Flanders' Fields.

Poppy tags on everyone- Remembrance Day.

THE STORY OF THE POPPY In the spring of 1915, shortly after losing a friend in Ypres, a Canadian doctor, Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae was inspired by the sight of poppies growing in battle-scarred fields to write a now famous poem called 'In Flanders Fields'. After the First World War, the poppy was adopted as a symbol of Remembrance. WHAT THE POPPY MEANS The poppy is A symbol of Remembrance and hope Worn by millions of people Red because of the natural colour of field poppies The poppy is NOT 1. A symbol of death or a sign of support for war 2. A reflection of politics or religion        Red to reflect the colour of blood Wearing a poppy is a personal choice and reflects individual and personal memories. It is not compulsory but is greatly appreciated by those it helps – our beneficiaries: those currently serving in our Armed Forces, veterans, and their families and dependants.

Remembrance Day! But why the poppy?

Image
Why the Poppy? The poppy has a long association with Remembrance Day. But how did the distinctive red flower become such a potent symbol of our remembrance of the sacrifices made in past wars? Scarlet corn poppies (popaver rhoeas) grow naturally in conditions of disturbed earth throughout Western Europe. The destruction brought by the Napoleonic wars of the early 19th Century transformed bare land into fields of blood red poppies, growing around the bodies of the fallen soldiers. In late 1914, the fields of Northern France and Flanders were once again ripped open as World War One raged through Europe's heart. Once the conflict was over the poppy was one of the only plants to grow on the otherwise barren battlefields. The significance of the poppy as a lasting memorial symbol to the fallen was realised by the Canadian surgeon John McCrae in his poem In Flanders Fields. The poppy came to represent the immeasurable sacrifice made by his comrades and quickly became a lasting

Remembrance Day (sometimes known informally as Poppy Day) is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. Following a tradition inaugurated by King George V in 1919,[1] the day is also marked by war remembrances in many non-Commonwealth countries.     Remembrance Day is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of World War I on that date in 1918. Hostilities formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month", in accordance with the armistice signed by representatives of Germany and the Entente between 5:12 and 5:20 that morning. ("At the 11th hour" refers to the passing of the 11th hour, or 11:00 am.) The First World War officially ended with the signing of the Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919.[2]     The memorial evolved out of Armistice Day, which continues to be marke

Trump describes Concession call from Clinton

President -elect Donald Trump told " 60 minutes" correspondence Leslie Stahl that Hilary Clinton made a "lovely" call to him to concede the presidential race.    Hilary called and it was a "lovely" call. It must have been tougher for her than it would have been for me. I can imagine for me it would have very difficult for me. I mean it was a tough call for her. She said , "congratulations Donald, well done". But she could have been very nicer.   And I said " i wanna thank you so much, you are a great competitor".   President-elect, Donald Trump described Hilary as being "Smart "and "Strong".    Bill Clinton, Hilary's husband, Former President of US called Trump as well to congratulate him. Trump said he could have being more gracious but he said " it was an amazing run , one of the most amazing I have ever seen". Though his call to me was very nice.   Trump said he might call Obama for advice
